It’s official:
Jersey Shore‘s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio will be starring in offshoots of the MTV hit.
On Thursday, the cabler announced the pickup of two
Jersey Shore spinoffs set to star the reality
trainwreck show’s three breakout personalities.
“Nicole, Pauly D and Jenni have become household names as a result of their unique, sometimes outrageous and often hilarious personalities,” MTV programming vice president Chris Linn said of the pickup. “We’re excited to put the spotlight on their lives away from the shore as they pursue their individual passions, careers and relationships… Both series are fun, fresh ways for us to evolve what is an already successful brand for us.”
The
Untitled Snooki and JWoww Project will follow the unlikely pals outside their Seaside Heights home, giving viewers a glimpse of “how they deal with life and love when the vacation is over,” per the press release.
Fans can also hit the road with the always mobile deejay in the
Untitled Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio Project, which sheds light on the
Jersey boy’s budding career in the music biz. And since Vinnie and The Situation won’t be around to lighten the mood, viewers will get to know the reality star’s best (meaning: actual) buds outside of the
Shore.
Production on both 12-episode shows begins this summer with an eye toward premiering in 2012.
